Nanocapsules
Nanocapsules are microscopic capsules containing substances such as drugs and proteins. They are made up of a core material encapsulated by a thin shell. Due to their unique small size and spherical shape, nanocapsules are able to cross biological barriers such as cell membranes and the blood-brain barrier, making them efficient delivery vehicles for drugs and proteins. As a result, they are used in microscopically targeted drug delivery and have many potential applications in the medical field. Nanocapsules can also be used in the food industry and cosmetics, enabling the improved delivery of flavor and other molecules to the desired body area.
