Food Technology
Food technology is the application of science and engineering principles to the processing, preservation, packaging and distribution of food. It involves the use of physical, chemical and microbiological processes to enhance the safety, acceptability and overall quality of food products. Food technology plays an important role in not only improving the quality and safety of food products, but also ensuring that goods are safe to consume and remain fresh for an extended period. Additionally, food technology has enabled the development of new and improved food products, enabled more efficient production processes, and allowed the better utilization of resources.
