Nephrogenic Diabetes Insipidus
Nephrogenic Diabetes Insipidus (NDI) is a rare, inherited kidney disorder that causes an increase in urination, leading to dehydration and kidney damage. The condition is caused by a decreased ability of the kidneys to respond to the antidiuretic hormone, which normally signals the kidneys to conserve fluid. NDI is usually treated with thiazide diuretics to reduce urine output, along with lifestyle modifications such as drinking more fluids and avoiding diuretics. It is important to diagnose NDI as early as possible, as it can cause serious medical issues if left untreated.
