Hyperkeratosis
Hyperkeratosis is a pathological thickening of the outer layer of the skin caused by excessive growth of the keratin layer of the epidermis. It is typically seen as a feature of dermatoses such as psoriasis, ichthyosis, lichen planus, and atopic dermatitis. It can occur in both adults and children. In addition to causing discomfort, it can sometimes lead to secondary bacterial or fungal infections. Treatment typically involves the use of topical corticosteroids or emollients, along with oral or topical antibiotics. Early diagnosis and treatment are important to prevent further complications.

Bioinformatics has multidisciplinary uses and can be interrelated to many subjects. Computers are used to gather, store, analyze and integrate biological and genetic information which can then be applied to gene-based drug discovery and development. It's application in various fields is studied by JBD and emphasis is laid on diabetes.
