Glomerular Filtration Rate
Glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is a medical test used to measure the rate at which blood passes through the tiny filters in the kidneys. It is an important measure of kidney function and is used to diagnose and monitor kidney diseases. GFR also helps to assess a person's risk of developing other medical conditions, such as hypertension, heart disease, and stroke. Low GFR values may indicate impaired kidney function and suggest the need for further medical testing or interventions.
