Diabetic Nephropathies
Diabetic nephropathies are a form of kidney disease caused by diabetes. In diabetics, high blood sugar levels cause damage to the small blood vessels in the kidneys, leading to increased levels of protein in the urine and a decrease in the ability of the kidneys to filter out waste products. This can lead to an increased risk of kidney failure, heart attack, stroke, and even death. Treatment of diabetic nephropathies includes controlling blood sugar levels, monitoring kidney function, and medication to reduce protein levels in the urine. Early detection and management of this condition can delay or prevent further complications.
