Sequence Databases

Sequence databases are collections of biological sequences, typically genetic or protein sequences, from living organisms. They can be used to compare sequences, identify related sequences, and study evolutionary relationships. They are a critical resource for scientists studying gene function, protein structure, and the evolution of species. By searching sequence databases, scientists can identify novel genes, proteins, and other genetic elements. They are also used to predict the structure and function of proteins, help design experiments and interpret findings, and develop new therapies. Sequence databases are vital for understanding the genetic code of living organisms and are essential in modern biological research.
