Phobias
A phobia is an irrational and intense fear of an object, situation or experience. People with phobias experience extreme anxiety when faced with their fear and may go to great lengths to avoid it. Phobias can disrupt day-to-day life and cause significant distress. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the most effective treatment for phobias. CBT helps people to identify, challenge and ultimately eliminate counterproductive behaviors, thoughts, and beliefs which contribute to phobias. This can help people to gain control over their fear and improve quality of life.
