Operations Research
Operations Research (OR) is a scientific approach to problem solving that helps to make better decisions in complex, real-world situations. It uses mathematical and analytical techniques to optimize the performance of organizations by using data, models and algorithms to develop insights on how best to meet their objectives. By understanding the behavior of a system or process, OR can be used to achieve goals in a variety of fields such as management, engineering, economics and the military. OR is important because it allows organizations to make the most efficient decisions for their operations and is useful for optimizing operations across industries like logistics, healthcare, finance and manufacturing. It also has applications in areas such as forecasting, inventory management, scheduling, resource allocation and risk analysis.
