Mood Disorders
Mood disorders are a group of mental health conditions that affect a person’s emotional state, causing extreme shifts in mood, self-awareness, and energy. The most common types of mood disorders include major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, and dysthymia. These conditions can impact a person’s quality of life and how they interact with others, including friends, family and even strangers. Treatment typically involves a combination of medication, psychotherapy, and lifestyle changes. People with mood disorders often benefit from support groups and other forms of psychological and social support.
