Mental Health Sexual Dysfunction
Mental health sexual dysfunction is a term used to describe difficulties related to sexual functioning, experiences, or satisfaction due to psychological factors. It can manifest as difficulty achieving and/or maintaining an erection for men, difficulty becoming aroused for women, and difficulty with ejaculation and orgasm in both genders. Mental health sexual dysfunction can have serious consequences on an individual’s sexual and physical health, as well as their interpersonal relationships. Mental health sexual dysfunction can be addressed through counseling, medical interventions, and lifestyle changes including stress reduction, healthy eating, and adequate exercise. Treatment of mental health sexual dysfunction is important to ensure an individual’s overall wellbeing.
