Functionalism
Functionalism is a social philosophy which emphasizes the functioning of societies and their parts, rather than their origin and structure. It is concerned with how social systems and institutions operate and interact to produce social order. Functionalism aims to explain how parts of a society come together to form a cohesive whole, and how collective norms are created and enforced. It has been used as an analytical tool in the study of economics, sociology, anthropology, and political science, to explain the way in which economic systems, social institutions, and political organizations operate. Functionalism is a key concept in the analysis of social systems, and its relevance to current research and practice continues to grow.

Behavioral therapy is an action-based therapy for positive behavior change. Other therapies tend to be more focused on delving into the past. In behavioral therapy, the past is still important as it often reveals where and when the unwanted behavior was learned, however it looks more so at present behavior and ways in which it can be rectified.
