Emotions
Emotions are a fundamental aspect of the human experience and refer to internal psychological state that are often expressed through physical and verbal behaviors. They are commonly associated with and arise from a person’s beliefs, values, and experiences. Depending on the emotion, different mental, physical, and behavioral changes can occur. Emotions can range from positive (e.g. joy and love) to negative (e.g. anger and fear). Depending on the situation, an emotion can be beneficial (e.g. fear can be a protection mechanism) or detrimental (e.g. anger can lead to aggressive behavior). Emotions can also influence decision-making, help individuals connect to others, and influence overall well-being. Understanding and managing emotions is essential to living a healthy and successful life.
