Emotional Disorders

Emotional Disorders refer to mental health conditions that are characterized by abnormal and disruptive thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. They include depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other related conditions. These disorders are significant because they can affect a person’s quality of life, impact their ability to function in social and work settings, and result in physical and psychological impairments over time. Treatment for emotional disorders typically consists of a combination of psychotherapy and medication. The most common and effective psychotherapies are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Additionally, there are numerous medications, such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), which are used to reduce the symptoms of emotional disorders.
