Behaviorism
Behaviorism is the study of animal and human behavior. It is a branch of psychology that focuses on behavior and its causes, exploring how environment, learning, and biology affect behavior. Behaviorism is used to treat mental illnesses, to modify behavior in therapy, and in educational settings to improve classroom behavior and learning. Through the development of effective principles of learning, behaviorism can be used to reduce problem for behaviors for both humans and animals. It is an important tool for psychologists, educators and other mental health professionals to use in seeking to improve the lives of their patients and clients.

Behavioral therapy is an action-based therapy for positive behavior change. Other therapies tend to be more focused on delving into the past. In behavioral therapy, the past is still important as it often reveals where and when the unwanted behavior was learned, however it looks more so at present behavior and ways in which it can be rectified.
