Osteopenia

Osteopenia is a condition characterized by having lower than normal bone density. It is a stage of osteoporosis, meaning it is a precursor to the full-blown condition. It is important to diagnose and treat early, as it increases the risk of developing osteoporosis, which can lead to fractures and other serious medical conditions. Osteopenia can be treated with lifestyle modifications including, increased physical activity and proper nutrition, as well as therapies such as medications and supplements to strengthen the bones. Identifying and treating osteopenia can reduce the risk of developing serious medical conditions and improve overall quality of life.
