Gout

Gout is a type of arthritis caused by the buildup of uric acid in the blood. It is the most common form of inflammatory arthritis and can cause severe pain and swelling in the joints. Gout is most common in men and those who are overweight or have other health conditions, such as high blood pressure or diabetes. Treatment typically includes medications to reduce uric acid levels, pain medicines, and lifestyle changes such as avoiding foods rich in purines, losing weight, and increasing physical activity. Early diagnosis and treatment can help prevent long-term joint damage and disability.
