Antioxidant Mechanism
Antioxidants are compounds that help protect cells in the body from damage caused by free radicals and reactive oxygen species. They have a significant role in reducing the progression of chronic diseases by eliminating oxidative stress, which is caused by an imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants. Antioxidants can be found in foods and supplements, and their main purpose is to reduce the risk of diseases caused by oxidative stress, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, and aging. They also help to protect and repair cell damage from any sources of oxidative stress and improve overall health. Antioxidants have a key role in the body's defence system, making them an important part of preventative health care.
