Address:

No.1 Beigou Xiangshan,
Haidian District,
Beijing,
China, 100093.

Research Interests:

  • A series of animal studies demonstrating that dietary supplement of polyphenol-rich products (bee propolis) prevents inflammatory diseases (inflammatory bowel disease, endotoxemia and acute pulmonary damage).
  • Studies in humans using faecal fermentation products and examining the effects of polyphenol-rich products (bee propolis) on gut microbiota changes.
  • Studies using cell models to clarify the molecular mechanisms of these anti-inflammatory effects.

Biography:

  • Dr Wang is currently a research scientist from Risk Assessment Laboratory for Bee Products Quality and Safety of Ministry of Agriculture of Institute of Apicultural Research, CAAS.
  • He obtained his PhD degree from College of Animal Sciences, Zhejiang University, China.
  • He used to be a visiting scholar in CSIRO Food and Nutrition in Adelaide, Australia.
  • He is recognized nationally and internationally for his scientific research in the areas of nutrition/natural products/healthy foods, particularly the mechanisms by polyphenol-rich foods and their constituents mitigate risk of serious inflammatory diseases, including endotoxemia and inflammatory bowel disease.
  • He is a reviewer of several SCI journals, including Cancer Letters, Journal of Functional Food, Mini-Reviews In Medicinal Chemistry, Mediators of Inflammation, etc.
  • He is also invited as a guest editor from the journal BioMed Research International.
