Parkinsonism
Parkinsonism is a group of neurological disorders characterized by a progressive loss of movement control due to the degeneration of cells in the brain. Symptoms typically include muscle stiffness, tremors, and decreased mobility. In its most common form, Parkinson's disease, it is the second most common neurodegenerative disease after Alzheimer's disease. Treatment options include medication, physical therapy, and in advanced cases, deep brain stimulation. Parkinsonism is an important disorder to understand and manage appropriately, as it significantly impacts quality of life for those afflicted with it.
