Tibetan Medicine
Tibetan Medicine is an ancient system of holistic healing that originated in Tibet. It is traditionally practiced alongside the scientific framework of Ayurvedic medicine, and its therapies are based on the fundamental principle that all physical, mental and emotional illness are caused by disruptions in the natural balance of the body's five elements, known as ‘humours’. These five humours – earth, wind, fire, water and space – are inextricably connected to the health of body and mind, and Tibetan medicine seeks to restore balance between them in order to treat disease and maintain health. Tibetan Medicine combines a wide range of therapies such as herbal remedies, diet, medicinal baths, massage and meditation, to relieve a diverse range of ailments from physical pain and fatigue to stress and mental health conditions. This form of medicine has been used for centuries to treat a wide variety of medical conditions and has been acknowledged for its success in enabling people to achieve a healthier, more balanced lifestyle. It is now becoming increasingly popular worldwide as people seek out natural, holistic treatments for their health and wellbeing.
