Chronic Alcohol Abuse
Chronic alcohol abuse is a condition where an individual drinks alcohol on a regular basis and to excess, negatively impacting their physical and mental health. It can lead to major organ damage, increased risk of cancer, and cognitive impairment. Additionally, chronic alcohol abuse can have impacts on the individual’s social and family life. Treatment for chronic alcohol abuse includes counseling and medications. Early identification of the condition is key to successful treatment and to preventing the serious, sometimes irreversible, effects of chronic alcohol abuse.
