Vaccinology
Vaccinology is the study of vaccines and the immune systems response to them. Vaccines are an important part of public health and are used to protect people from a wide range of infectious diseases. Vaccines work by introducing an antigen into the body to stimulate the formation of antibodies which help to protect from the subsequent infection caused by a specific virus or bacteria. Vaccinology is important for the development and testing of new vaccines, as well as understanding how the immune system responds to vaccines and why they may not be effective in some people. Vaccines have been proven to be one of the most effective tools for controlling infectious diseases worldwide and saving lives.
