Dust
Dust is a mixture of tiny, dry particles of organic and inorganic material that are suspended in the air. It originates from sources such as soil erosion, volcanic eruptions, combustion of fossil fuels, and synthetic materials, and is found everywhere in the environment. Dust is an important part of the Earth’s climate system as it has direct and indirect effects on climate, air quality, human health, and ecosystems. For example, it can both absorb and scatter solar radiation and affect cloud formation, and many dust particles contain compounds that can be hazardous to human health. Dust can also be used as an agricultural fertilizer and soil enhancer due to its nutrient-rich properties. In many industries, dust is collected and recycled to be used as a fuel or a chemical feedstock.
