Wheat Stripe Rust

Wheat Stripe Rust (Puccinia striiformis) is a destructive fungal disease affecting wheat production worldwide. It is caused by airborne spores which spread rapidly in growing season and infect wheat plants, resulting in yellow or brown stripes on the leaves. The rust reduces crop yields and quality, leading to significant economic losses. Wheat stripe rust is controlled through a combination of practices, including crop rotation, selection of resistant varieties, timing of sowing and fungicide application.
