Viticulture

Viticulture is the science, production, and study of grapes and grape-based products such as wine, raisins, grape juice, and vinegar. It also includes the cultivation of grapevines, the planting, maintenance and harvest of grapes, the production of wines, and the bottling and aging of those wines. Viticulture is important not only for the production of quality wines, but also for the preservation of natural resources, since grapevines are a critical part of the agricultural and ecological systems of many regions. Viticultural practices also play a key role in the conservation of biodiversity, as well as in the production of local foods and green energy.
