Triticale

Triticale is an agricultural crop hybrid of wheat and rye. This hybrid was developed with the intention of combining the yield potential and grain quality of wheat with the disease and environmental tolerance of rye. It is an important food crop due to its higher nutritional value than other cereals with high content of proteins, minerals and vitamins. Triticale is used in a variety of applications, including in cereal-based products such as breakfast cereals, breads and pastas, as well as in animal feed. Additionally, it is well-suited for organic and low-input farming, making it a sustainable agricultural option.
