berries Strawberries are a sweet, edible berry which are the visible swollen stem-end of a receptacle containing small, edible, soft seeds. Strawberries contain an array of vitamins and minerals, including folate, vitamin C and potassium. They are an excellent source of dietary fiber and are low in sugar, fat and calories. Strawberries have long been recognized for their numerous health benefits, including their ability to lower cholesterol, control blood sugar, reduce inflammation, boost immunity and prevent certain types of cancer. Strawberries are versatile and can be enjoyed fresh, frozen, cooked or dried. They are also used in a variety of dishes, from salads to desserts, and make a nutritious addition to smoothies, yogurt and cereals.
