Snapdragons
Snapdragons (Antirrhinum majus) are annual flowering plants that are native to the Mediterranean and parts of North America. They are known for their unique flowers which resemble the mouth of a dragon and strongly resemble the beaks of parrots. Snapdragons vary in height from 10 cm to 90 cm, with most varieties averaging around 45 cm. The flowers come in many colors ranging from white, yellow, orange, pink, and even red. Their main use is as garden ornamentals, and they can be used both fresh and dried in flower arrangements. In addition, snapdragons are highly valued in the cut-flower industry, as they last much longer than other blooms. Snapdragons have also been used medicinally, as they contain a variety of potent medicinal compounds. This makes them useful in treating a wide range of ailments including stomach pain, fevers, and anxiety. They are also edible, though they are not particularly palatable.
