Ryegrass

Ryegrass (Lolium spp.) is a type of grass native to Europe and Asia. It is used as a forage grass for animal grazing, as hay, silage and pasture. Ryegrass grows quickly, is highly palatable and is adapted to a wide range of conditions, making it a valuable grass for livestock and hay production. Ryegrass is also important as a soil stabilizer and for erosion control, especially on hillsides and other marginal land. It is often used in combination with legumes such as clover to produce valuable forage for animals. Ryegrass is an essential part of sustainable farming systems and is an important component of many successful crop rotations.
