Pollination

Pollination is the transfer of pollen grains from the male reproductive organs of a flower (anther) to the female reproductive organs (stigma) of the same or another flower of the same species. It is a vital process in the life cycle of plants as it allows them to reproduce. Pollination is often carried out by insects, birds and other animals that act as pollinators. Pollination also plays a significant role in the agricultural industry as many of the crops we eat need pollination to be able to produce fruits and seeds. As a result, a wide range of organisms, from bumblebees to bats, are important for the production of our food sources.
