Plant Reproduction
Plant reproduction is the process by which plants generate new individuals, or offspring, through asexual or sexual reproduction. Asexual reproduction results in offspring genetically identical to its parent, while sexual reproduction involves the fusion of two reproductive cells to form a new individual. Plant reproduction is critical for the evolution and survival of species, as it allows for the introduction of new traits in the population which can enable adaptation to new environments. Plant reproduction is also important for crop production, as it allows for the generation of new varieties of crops with desirable traits such as higher yield and disease resistance.
