Plant Microbes
Plant microbes are tiny organisms that play a vital role in the health of plants. These microbes include bacteria, fungi, and viruses, and they interact with plants in a variety of ways. Bacteria and fungi form an important part of the plant's microbiome, aiding in nutrient uptake and providing protection against disease. Some bacteria also help plants to break down minerals and gases in order to produce energy. Viruses aid in disease protection as well, while some provide beneficial genetic material. Plant microbes are essential for the growth, development and long-term health of plants, and provide numerous benefits to humans through the production of food, fiber, and other agricultural products. Additionally, they improve soil fertility, reduce pollutants, and help maintain biodiversity.
