Plant Evolution
Plant evolution is the process by which plants have adapted over time to their environment and the changing climate. Through the process of natural selection, plants have evolved physical and physiological characteristics that make them more suited to their habitat. As a result of their evolution, plants play a major role in the global environment, providing food, fuel, oxygen and shelter. Plant evolution is an important area of study that can help us understand the effects of climate change and inform future conservation strategies.
