Plant Ecophysiology
Plant ecophysiology is the study of how plants interact with their environment, and is a powerful tool to understand the impacts of global climate change on ecosystems. It studies how plants respond to stressors such as heat, drought, floods, wind and soil fertility, as well as how they interact with their biotic and abiotic environment. Plant ecophysiology can also be used to inform strategies for sustainable agriculture and forestry, assist restoration efforts, and inform conservation and management strategies. The research conducted in this field also has implications for food security and water security, as understanding how plants interact with their environment is crucial for understanding their potential for growth and response to changing environmental conditions.
