Plant Ecology
Plant ecology is the scientific study of the interactions between plants and their environment. It examines the impact of biotic (living) and abiotic (non-living) components of an ecosystem on the structure and function of plant populations, communities, and ecosystems. Its research helps us to understand how plants control and influence phenomena such as climate, soil fertility, water availability, and biodiversity. Plant ecology studies help us to understand how we can improve the use of natural resources, reduce human impacts on ecosystems, and protect species and their habitats.
