Plant Cotyledon
Cotyledons are the first leaves of a plant to develop during its germination process. They are essential for storing nutrients that are needed for the establishment of the seedling. Cotyledons also provide the essential support for the subsequent growth of the plant by helping to draw water from the soil. They are found in all species of flowering plants, and are essential for the survival of the seedling. They are also important for determining the overall shape and structure of the plant, and also play a role in the transfer of energy throughout the plant.
