Plant-animal Interactions

Plant-animal interactions refer to the relationship between plants and animals, and include things like feeding, protection and pollination. These interactions are of great significance since they can affect the growth, competitive ability and reproductive success of the plants and animals involved. They often play an important role in the maintenance of biodiversity and the structure of habitats. Furthermore, due to their importance in the environment, plant-animal interactions are increasingly being studied and used for conservation, agriculture and recreation. For example, bee pollination is of great benefit to the production of crops, and the presence of predators can help keep herbivore populations in check.
