Pistons
Pistons are mechanical components used in engines, pumps and valves of all kinds to transfer force from a larger area, often from a gaseous or liquid medium, to a smaller area. This is done by the simple movement of a reciprocating linear piston in a cylinder, which is a sealed chamber filled with a pressurized fluid such as air or oil. The force generated by the piston is used to drive machinery, compress substances and create useful work. Pistons are an essential part of various types of machinery, such as air compressors, automobile engines and robotics. They are also used in industrial and medical applications including pumps, valves and vacuum systems. Thanks to their high performance and reliability, they are essential in the development of modern technology.
