Palynology
Palynology is the study of microscopic particles originating from plants, fungi and animals that are found in the air, water, and sediment. These particles are important because they can provide information on past and present environmental conditions, such as climate change, land use, and the health of ecosystems. Palynology can also be used to track the geographical distribution of species, map prehistoric environments, and trace the evolution of plants, animals and humans. Palynology is a valuable tool for understanding past and present environments, and its applications are far-reaching and interdisciplinary.
