Nectaries

Nectaries are specialised structures found in some plants, which secrete a sugary liquid known as nectar. Nectar is essential in the process of pollination, as it attracts beneficial organisms such as bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds which carry the pollen between different plants aiding in the reproduction of flowers. In addition to this, nectar also provides food for several species of animals, and is sometimes used by humans for the production of beverages, honey, and syrups. Nectaries play an integral role in the natural environment, providing food and aiding the pollination of plants which is essential for the survival of many species.
