Inflorescences
Inflorescences are a type of flowers or flower clusters that are formed by the union of several small flowers. They are an important evolutionary adaptation used by plants to ensure successful reproduction. Inflorescences can be used by horticulturalists to control the flowering times of their plants as well as to create aesthetically pleasing displays of blooms. In addition, the study of inflorescences has numerous applications in crop breeding and other areas of agricultural science. By manipulating the inflorescence structure of plants, breeders can help to optimize yields of many important crops around the world.
