Conifers
Conifers are a group of cone-bearing seed plants, including evergreen trees and shrubs. They are an important component of the world’s forests, and are valued for their use in timber production and landscape design. Conifers are also notable for their resistance to drought and fire and their ability to grow in difficult, often inhospitable environments such as high altitudes and cold regions. These characteristics also make them valuable in the production of essential oils, natural medicines, and other commercially important products. In addition, conifers provide a range of ecological services such as air purification, erosion control, and water regulation. Thus, conifers are a vital component of the world’s ecosystems, and their conservation and proper management are important for sustaining the planet’s biodiversity.
