Bioinformatics and Plant Genomic Resources.
Bioinformatics is the use of computer-based techniques to analyze and interpret biology data. Plant genomic resources are databases, tools and other resources which are used to store, manage and analyze plant genetic data. They are important for understanding the genetic structure of plants and how they interact with their environment. They can be used to study plant evolution and develop crop varieties with improved traits. They can also be used to help identify new sources of disease resistance or to identify novel natural products. Bioinformatics and plant genomic resources are becoming increasingly important for the breeding, conservation and sustainable production of new and improved varieties of crops.
