Bark

Beetle Bark beetles are small bugs that feed inside the bark of trees. Bark beetles are important to the environment, serving as food for other animals, contributing nutrients to the soil, and helping control the spread of disease in trees. They can also be a major nuisance for foresters and homeowners if their populations become large enough to cause damage to trees. While some species are considered beneficial, others can cause severe damage if left uncontrolled. Controlling bark beetle populations requires a variety of management practices, including host tree selection, insecticide applications, and removal of infested trees.
