Astragalus

Astragalus is a large genus of more than 2,000 species of plants, in the legume family (Fabaceae). It is an important plant in traditional Chinese medicine, where it is used for its immunostimulative and anti-inflammatory properties. Recent studies have also demonstrated that Astragalus can reduce fatigue, improve cognitive function, and lower blood pressure. It is commonly used as an herbal tea, extract, or powder form. In addition, the root of Astragalus is also used in many countries as a food ingredient, in a variety of dishes including soups and salads.
