Agronomy

Agronomy is the science of the cultivation, production and management of crops and soil. It encompasses all aspects of food production, from soil management, crop rotation and fertilization, to pest control, harvesting and storage. Agronomy plays a critical role in global food security, as it helps farmers maintain soil fertility and maximize crop yields. Agronomists also work to optimize water and nutrient resources, while mitigating environmental impacts and adapting to climate change. Agronomy has significantly improved agricultural productivity, enabling farmers to produce more with less land, energy and water.
