Agricultural Meteorology

Agricultural meteorology is a branch of meteorology that studies the weather’s effects on crops and livestock. It is a critical aspect of agricultural production, as its predictions can help farmers and ranchers maximize the effectiveness of their land and crops while minimizing the risk of crop damage due to excessive heat, cold, precipitation, and other adverse conditions. Agricultural meteorology also helps agriculturalists plan irrigation and harvesting schedules, as well as predict pest and disease outbreaks. The applications of this field also extend to numerous other aspects of farming, such as determining the best times to sow and harvest crops, estimating soil moisture, and augmenting the sustainability of farming practices.
