Agricultural Engineering
Agricultural engineering is an interdisciplinary field of science that applies engineering principles and technology to improve the production and processing of agricultural products. It combines the biological and engineering sciences to improve the efficiency, safety and sustainability of agricultural practices. Agricultural engineering has wide-ranging applications, including the design of agricultural machinery, irrigation systems, rural transportation, food storage and processing, and farm structures. It can also be applied to the management of natural resources such as water, soil and air. The goal of agricultural engineering is to optimize agricultural production and the use of resources while minimizing environmental degradation.
