Nanomaterials

Nanomaterials are materials composed of very small particles, typically ranging from 1 to 100 nanometers in size. These materials have unique physical and chemical properties, compared to their larger counterparts, due to the increased surface area to volume ratio. Nanomaterials make possible a wide variety of products and technologies, ranging from efficient water purification systems to remarkable advances in consumer electronics. They can be used to create ultra-strong and lightweight materials, as well as potent biocompatible coatings. Use of nanomaterials has the potential to revolutionize numerous industries, from biomedical to aerospace.
